Quarters Cafe Bar

Welcome to Quarters Cafe Bar, a charming gem tucked away in the vibrant Millennium Walk of Newport. If you’re in search of a cozy haven for coffee lovers and food enthusiasts alike, look no further. This delightful cafe isn't just a place to grab a bite—it's an experience.

At Quarters Cafe Bar, you are bound to be greeted with warm smiles, thanks to the friendly owners, Simon and Jack, who are dedicated to creating a welcoming atmosphere. Their passion for service shines through in every interaction, and regulars like Mary Somers can't help but feel at home. "The best cheese on toast ever," she raves, highlighting the care Simon takes in preparing each dish to perfection. It's this kind of attention to detail that sets Quarters apart.

Beyond the impeccable service, Quarters Cafe Bar offers an array of delectable food and drink options. Coffee aficionados will appreciate the rich brews sourced from a local roaster, a detail that Craig Chambers notes with delight. Pair your coffee with their fabulous ham and cheese croissant or dive into the eclectic brunch menu that features highlights like the BBQ sweet potato and chorizo bake, lovingly praised by Marcus Davage as his "new comfort food."

  • Child-Friendly Environment: Quarters is not just a dining spot for adults. With a welcoming atmosphere, it's perfect for families.
  • Outdoor Terrace: Enjoy your meals while basking in scenic views of the river and nearby footbridge.
  • Late-night Opening: Unlike many cafes in Newport, Quarters opens late on weekends, perfect for those craving tea and cake.
  • Community Feel: Conversations with the owners over coffee can transform your visit into a delightful exploration of flavors and stories.

Many patrons marvel at the serene setting, which is ideal for both intimate gatherings and a quiet moment to work. Beth captures this essence, exclaiming how the quality of food and beverages makes every visit worthwhile. Alex Murray highlights the tranquil ambiance, perfect for enjoying a large portion of smashed avocado on sourdough toast.

And let’s not forget the delicious baked goods. As Laura I found, the hot chocolate here is nothing short of extraordinary. It's clear that Quarters Cafe Bar is committed to serving high-quality food, whether it’s coffee, pastries, or a good pint. The cafe not only exudes a relaxed vibe but also captures a hint of European charm that many have come to adore, as noted by user ponsaelius.

In conclusion, if you find yourself in Newport, make sure to visit Quarters Cafe Bar. Whether you're looking for a serene environment to work, a cozy spot to catch up with friends, or simply a place to enjoy some of the best coffee and brunch in South Wales, you’ll undoubtedly leave with a smile. As Isobel Donovan puts it, this cafe is a crown jewel worth recommending to anyone seeking quality and friendliness in their dining experiences.

My favourite place to have lunch. Owner, Simon. Great guy, friendly, charming. ...... Best cheese on toast ever. Okay, if you have to wait 15 mins to be served it's because he's making sure the dish is just perfect. He holds his diners/ coffee drinkers in high esteem . Appreciate that Simon Thanks Regular customer

Lovely find. Great coffee from a local roaster. Variety of beers. Jazz playing in the background, what more can you want. Had a great chat with the owner about coffee and our journeys of discovery. Ham and cheese croissant was fabulous. Eat inside or outside on the terrace overlooking the bridge. Highly recommend.

Jack and Esther are fab hosts, very friendly and accommodating. The location is spot on, with lovely views of the river, footbridge and Friars Walk. The coffee is quite possibly the best in South Wales, thanks to Northstar Roast. The WiFi is strong, fast and free. The cakes/pastries are baked to perfection. The brunch menu is amazing, especially the BBQ sweet potato and chorizo bake - my new comfort food!

Such a lovely little cafe that we came across and a really child friendly place, which is a bonus. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, they're super friendly. Coffee, tea and food is of great quality and super tasty too. Really worth a visit, will definitely be visiting here alot more often. They're open late on weekend evenings too, which is perfect as Newport has nowhere decent open for tea and cake, late evenings.
